Visions and Revisions: Romance Utopias and Dystopias
April 5, 2018 - April 7, 2018
This is the 24th Annual Carolina Conference for Romance Studies, presented by the Department of Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Over the past 23 years, the conference has grown tremendously and is now one of the largest conferences in the country coordinated entirely by graduate students. Each year, professors and graduate students from all over the globe present papers on literature, film, and interdisciplinary topics in French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
For the third year, the conference takes advantage of the shift in the department’s focus–reflected in the name change from “Languages and Literatures” to “Romance Studies”–to re-envision a long-standing conference. This year’s three keynote speakers are Enrico Cesaretti from the University of Virginia, Laurent Dubois from Duke University and Mabel Moraña from Washington University. Check the conference website for updates and the full schedule.
