Developing global knowledge and skills through experiential learning is a hallmark of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. In the full-time MBA Program, Global Immersion Electives are vital to understanding how business is conducted around the world. These faculty-led courses develop intercultural competencies: empathy and the ability to see issues from many perspectives, deeper knowledge of a region’s business and people, and cross-cultural communication skills. Vice Provost Barbara Stephenson Invited into American Academy of Diplomacy

Barbara Stephenson, vice provost for global affairs and chief global officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was invited to join the American Academy of Diplomacy. Focus Carolina: Paul Cuadros

Paul Cuadros served as the chair and executive director of the UNC Scholars’ Latino Initiative and is also the co-founder of the Carolina Latinx Center. Cuadros researches and writes about race and poverty in North Carolina. His reporting on Latino workers in poultry processing plants brought him to Siler City, where he wrote about coaching a Latino high school soccer team to illustrate how changing demographics affected the town.   Listen to his interview on Focus Carolina.


Susan Harbage Page Shares on Borders and Belonging

In 1969, when she was 10 years old, Susan Harbage Page went on a road trip across Europe with her mother and three sisters in a red Volkswagen van. It was a pivotal event in Page’s memory; they crossed about 22 borders in three months. Mike Levine grew up in a seaside community in New Jersey best known as the birthplace of Bruce Springsteen. His dad was a music instructor who played the alto-saxophone and conducted the local concert band.
